Author Workshop

Last week a year 7 class were lucky enough to be invited to an author workshop at the Brent public library in the new civic centre.

Students heard a mix of extracts and raps from author Steve Tasane’s debut novel, ‘Blood Donors’ which has just been published.

Part horror, part comedy, part social realism, the book deals with issues such as teenage anger, relationships and a major bed bug infestation.

The students thoroughly enjoyed this opportunity, especially the poem that described bed bugs feeding from the main character’s blood.

One student said “I’m definitely going to read the book once it comes into the library!”.
