On the 22nd February we are thrilled to host our inaugural ‘The Apprentice’ Day in sixth-form. It is planned to be a fully immersive day where our students will both learn more about the best available alternatives to university, and become more competitive candidates for these programmes by rehearsing their application skills. During the day-long event our 230 sixth-formers will compete to win (imaginary) apprenticeships and (real-life prizes) from our three partner employers Transport for London, Lloyds Banking Group & The Civil Service. During the day all our Y12 and Y13 students will complete a one-on-one interview with a volunteer from one of these organisations, a group task and an online skills assessment, mirroring a typical apprenticeship application process.
At the end of the day the overall winners will be announced and a further fifty employers will join the students and their parents for an informal ‘networking event’ over canapes and grape juice, giving them an opportunity to ask questions and discover more about a wide variety of careers and sectors. Confirmed guests include representatives of Rolls Royce, Tesco, KPMG, Boston Consulting Group, Grant Thornton, The House of Commons, The Bank of England, Shell, The BBC, Warner Brothers, The Metropolitan Police, The NHS and Google.
It looks like being one of the most exciting events we have held at our sixth-form and we would be thrilled if you could join us.
