Remembrance Day 2015
Remembrance Day 2015 saw our students honouring the servicemen and women we've lost in wars past with a dramatic performance in assembly. Form time was devoted to learning about the story behind the poppy and its continued symbolism, along with an explanation of the role of the Royal British Legion and how funds from the sale of poppies help the organisation carry out its crucial work supporting the Armed Forces community.
The programme 'The People Remember' , which recounts the stories of forgotten heroes who have served in conflict and documents battles in history, was also shown with a view to sparking discussion around war and the importance of remembrance.
The entire school observed the two minute silence at 11am, an opportunity for respectful reflection.
