Ark Academy Primary is a school with high standards and high expectations. We want our pupils to be ambitious for themselves and, as our school motto states, be the best that they can be. Our core values are Civitas, Excellence, Persistence and Participation and these underpin everything that we do. Civitas is central to our culture at Ark Academy Primary. To ‘be Civitas’ is to be polite, respectful, helpful, community-minded and conscientious. We actively teach this to our pupils and this is an expectation for their conduct at our school.

Our staff put the needs of the pupils first and are focused on their wellbeing, safety and academic progress. We value teamwork and professional development very highly so that we can do the very best job for our pupils. When we were visited by Ofsted in February 2022, the inspectors recognised that the “children relish coming to this school”. I am proud to say we were rated as outstanding in all areas which reflects the hard work that the whole staff team put in to ensuring our pupils have the very best school experience.

Our goal is that every Ark Academy pupil, regardless of their background, can ultimately go on to higher education or have the career of their choice and participate fully in our democratic society. I am extremely proud to be the headteacher of Ark Academy Primary and hope that I can help to ensure that our pupils have the successful futures that they deserve.
