The delight of our students is so great to see. All of the excited ladies (top left) achieved their firm offers from universities of Birmingham, Nottingham, Kent and City.
This is in a year when grade boundaries increased significantly for top grades, so many students in Ark Academy bucked the trend.
Top performer Sarah Kheir with 4 A*’s in Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Physics will now study Natural Sciences at Cambridge.
Additionally, Saba Ahmadzadeh achieved a place to study Middle Eastern Studies at Wadham College, Oxford.
Shane Burek achieved 3A* and A and will now study Physics with Astro physics at UCL.
Diamond Nader, Head Boy at Ark, arrived in the UK in Year 11 as an asylum seeker and was only able to sit 5 GCSEs at college. In our Sixth Form he has excelled and achieved AAB in Chemistry, Maths and Biology to study Chemistry at Queen Mary’s London. Diamond will receive a Marshall Wace bursary of £9,900.
Abigail Seifu with a fabulous A*A*A* in Biology, Chemistry and Maths will study Pharmacy at UCL.
Susun Shams (AAA) will be studying Pharmacology at King's.
Ali Ahmed Sultan achieved A*A*A in Biology, Maths and Chemistry and will study Medicine. Additionally, we have 3 medical students this year – Gursimran Singh, Dilani Jolapara and Saleem Haqdad.
A fabulous outcome for Wisan Eltayeb, who achieved A*AA in Psychology, RS and Sociology and will study Law at Nottingham. She will receive a Marshall Wace Bursary of £9,900.
There were equally strong destinations for our BTEC science students.
Nadia Dhicis achieved a fantastic D*D*D to achieve her dream of gaining a place a King's College to study Nursing. Binnoufoune Toure (D*DD) will join Nadia at King's to study Nursing too.
Duha Dabo (D*D*D) will study Radiography at St George's.
Asheel Abbasi and Mark Douglas both received D*D*D and will study Biomedical Sciences.
Bashar Saied (D*DD) only arrived in the UK in Year 10 and did not speak English. Has excelled and now will study Biochemistry at Surrey University (Marshall Wace bursary of £9,900).
