Why do we learn psychology?
According to the Higher Education Statstics Agency, Psychology is the most popular subject chosen at University in the UK and with great reason too. Studying Psychology at A Level provides students with the opportunity to delve into interesting topics such as Schizophrenia, Forensics, Social Influence and many others. It is a subject that encourages critical thinking whilst reinforcing key mathematical and research based skills. Students are taught the skills and knowledge needed to express strong and effective arguments whilst balancing evaluative counterpoints.
Our approach
Each unit of our curriculum is based around the notion of enquire to inspire.
- We encourage students to challenge themselves, ask questions, criticise theories and evaluate. Evaluation is a key driver within the subject and critical thinking is a necessary skill for students to develop.
- As teachers, we continue to inspire greatness from our students and to set the standard of the classroom through high expectations and excellent modelling. We are the climate of the classroom.
Without inspiration, enquiry cannot happen, and the combination of these two creates a journey of learning with high reward.
