We were very proud to be the best represented school at the Ark Netball event yesterday. As you can see from the picture, we were the only school to have a Yr7, 8 and 9 squad travel to Essex to compete.
A mixed bag of results against various teams, please see summary:
Yr7 - Played 3 [lost 2, won 1].
We took a team of 8 players, 7 of these had never played on the netball team before! However, Audrey [our Captain] led our team on the court and helped secure our first ever Yr7 netball victory! After shaking hands with Ark Acton, they celebrated for at least 10minutes, hugging each other and congratulating everyone on their excellent performance – Great to see them having the best time! They were so proud of themselves that they even decided to wear the netball bibs the whole way back on the train. Yr7 Player of the tournament was Sandra who represented Ark for the first time and … scored the winner against Ark Acton!
Yr8 – Played 2, won 2!
These Yr8’s work together so well as a team and they love their netball! Lajayda is the team captain, and she is a great team leader and even better netballer [might help that her dad plays netball for England!]. She is continuously praising her teammates and picking out their strengths. Today she asked if she could nominate Elsie as player of the match as her work rate was incredible - couldn’t agree more!
Yr9 – Played 2, lost 2…
Although the girls did not win a game, we cannot fault their passion for netball. Player of the match Abigail.
